Houston, TX-Schlumberger Oilfield Services and Cal Dive International, Inc. (CDI) have recently signed an agreement covering the utilization of Schlumberger's Wireline & Testing, Dowell coiled tubing services and Dowell pumping services with CDI's dynamically positioned semi-submersible vessel Uncle John to provide the oil and gas industry with sub sea through-tubing well intervention capabilities at an attractive cost.
The semi-submersible MSV Uncle John is a non-drilling vessel that is mobilized under its own power and has a derrick to facilitate the sub sea operations. The workover derrick is rated for 150 metric tons of static load and is furnished with a heave compensation system and a Dreco top drive system. Schlumberger will outfit the vessel with a wide range of Wireline & Testing and Dowell equipment for sub sea intervention projects.
