HOUSTON, April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Canyon Offshore, Inc. has completed the burial of the Glider Field (GC 248) Flowline for Shell Exploration and Production Company (SEPCo). The contract work scope included the trenching and backfill burial of the newly laid 6.625-inch (~8 inch OD) Glider flowline to enhance the flow assurance properties of the line. The approximately 32,000-foot line was buried in 3000 fsw at the Brutus TLP end, and 3,300 fsw at the G4 well location to an average depth of approximately 6 ft. This makes the Glider project the deepest flowline burial project in the world.
The project began on February 9, 2004 and was completed on March 15th on a single mobilization. Canyon Offshore utilized its new T-750 Super-Trencher deployed from the DP II M/V Northern Canyon to perform the trenching and burial operations. A TRITON XLS work class ROV was provided to conduct survey and post burial survey tasks. In addition, Canyon provided all the pre- engineering, survey, project engineering, project management and ROV support associated with the work.
