Houston TX – Cal Dive International, Inc. (Nasdaq:CDIS) installed 45,000 feet (8.5 miles) of 4.5 inch diameter continuous reeled pipe for Consolidated Natural Gas (CNG) in the Main Pass area of the GOM.
Three separate flowlines were laid in 330 feet of water to connect three platforms. A 25,000 foot line tied the “Atlantis” platform in MP 279 back to the main “Nautilus” platform in MP 281. Two 10,000 foot lines completed the connection between the “Nautilus” platform and the “Nemo” platform in MP 280. “J” tube pulls were conducted at all termination points – a total of six in all, and nine pipeline crossings were installed.
CDI utilized its dynamically positioned diving support vessel (DPDSV) the Witch Queen and the 165 ft. Cal Diver V to complete the installation project.
