Cal Dive International, Houston, Texas, recently completed a turnkey fast track field development project for Santa Fe Snyder Corp. The scope of work included installation of a subsea tree in 325 feet of water at Main Pass 260 and tie-back to Santa Fe Snyders recently upgraded production facilities in Main Pass 259 three miles to the Southeast.
CDI supplied all of the major components from their "Modular Development Package Stocking System". Those components included: a 10K FMC CM1 mudline subsea tree, Kongsberg offshore companion control system, an umbilical and 15,000 feet of 4.5 inch reeled flowline. In addition, CDI assisted in expediting the permitting process and final system testing.
Actual installation was completed utilizing CDIs DP DSV WITCH QUEEN and the CAL DIVER I. Due to its unique modular design, Cal Dives portable saturation diving system was able to be installed aboard ENSCOs rig #86, in limited deck space, and was a critical component in the successful installation of the subsea well.
CDI and Santa Fe Snyder signed the contract in the first week of February, and the system went on line in mid May. The entire project , from contract signing to first production, took 105 days.
Cal Dive International, Inc. operates a fleet of technically advanced marine construction support vessels. Energy Resource Technology Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, acquires and operates mature offshore properties as part of CDIs decommissioning services.
