Houston TX - Cal Dive International, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDIS) today announced an exclusive alliance with AMBAR to provide Gulf of Mexico oil and gas owners with the AMBAR StarTac Coiled Tubing Pipeline Remediation System. The alliance will use AMBAR's proprietary technology and CDI vessels to ensure that operators have the capability to remove wax and hydrate blockages from the subsea tree completion end of subsea pipelines. The alliance will pursue contracts with operators to engineer subsea hardware to provide immediate access to pipelines that have a possibility of blockage or are in need of repair. The AMBAR Deep Star 3202 system, which will be deployed from Cal Dive dynamically positioned vessels, has been proven to remove wax and hydrate blockages up to five miles beyond those of conventional coiled tubing systems.
